Recommended Activities in Ciutadella de Menorca

If you decide to explore Ciutadella, we recommend getting lost in its cobblestone streets, enjoying the charm of its historic buildings. Take a break at one of the city's terraces, where you can relax with a coffee. Don't forget to visit the museums, churches, and palaces scattered throughout the city. And if shopping is your thing, the historic center offers a wide range of retail options.

Shop hours are generally from 10:00 to 13:30 and from 17:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday, while on Saturdays they usually open only in the morning. During the summer or sales periods, many shops extend their opening hours.

When it’s time to eat, keep in mind that many restaurants close their kitchens at 16:00, reopening for dinner. Therefore, it is advisable to make a reservation, especially during the summer months, as finding a free table can be a challenge.

Walking Tour of Ciutadella and its Surroundings

One of the best ways to get to know Ciutadella is to forget about the car and enjoy it on foot. We suggest starting at Plaza de Ses Palmeres, from where you can head to the famous Ses Voltes street, known for the arches that line it and its lively commercial life. Following this path, you will reach the Plaza de la Catedral, where you will also find the Tourist Information office.

After visiting the cathedral, continue toward Plaza Des Born, presided over by the imposing central obelisk that commemorates the Turkish invasion of 1558. From here, you can explore Plaza des Pins, the city's green lung, or continue your walk along Sa Contramurada, which today has been transformed into a busy shopping area.

If you prefer to enjoy a good local dish, we recommend heading down to the Port of Ciutadella, where restaurants specializing in fresh fish and seafood await you, along with bars where you can taste exquisite tapas in a unique setting by the sea.
